The Lakers scored the first five points before the Saints roared back with a 7-0 run. Maryville stretched a 19-15 lead out to 23-17 after one quarter.

Ali Ringering drained consecutive 3-pointers for a 33-25 lead. The Lakers closed the half on a burst and took a 41-37 lead at intermission.

GVSU went up by double digits but the Saints pulled back to 53-47 on a Ringering triple and two free throws by Sherwood. Later, a
Mary Barton jumper cut the deficit to 57-51 before the Lakers went back ahead by double digits. The Saints pulled to 67-57 at the 9:02 mark on a Ringering 3-pointer and a Steward layup. However, the Lakers pulled away late.
