Men's Soccer Falls to Rockhurst 1-0 in the NCAA Midwest Regional Semifinal

Box Score Kansas City, Mo. –  Rockhurst University scored early in the first half and held on to defeat the Maryville University men's soccer team 1-0 Sunday afternoon at Bourke Field in Kansas City, Mo., in the second round of the 2017 NCAA Soccer Championships.
 
What Happened – The Hawks opened the scoring in the 8th minute as Adam Michel took a cross and scored from eight yards out to give Rockhurst a 1-0 lead over the Saints. The game turned into a defensive battle from that point with the Hawks holding on for the victory.
 
Inside the Numbers – The Hawks outshot the Saints 14-3 in the match. Christian Kjaersgaard was credited with five saves on the afternoon. The Saints 13 wins are the most since the 1994 team won 18 matches.
 
How They Stand – The Saints end the season with a record of 13-4-2 while the Hawks improve to 15-2-2.
