Summary 
Kayla Steward tied her career high with 21 points but the Maryville women's basketball team dropped its final non-conference game to Ferris State 91-67 Saturday afternoon at Jim Wink Arena in Big Rapids, Mich.
 
What Happened 
The Saints and Bulldogs went back and forth in the early portion of the first quarter as Amanda Ponce scored all five of her points in the first five minutes of the period. Ali Ringering registered a lay-up to give Maryville a 9-6 advantage. The Bulldogs then ended the quarter with a 15-6 run to take a 21-15 lead.
 
Steward scored the Saints first four points of the second quarter, including a jumper that cut the Bulldog lead to 25-19 with 8:29 remaining in the half. Ferris State then pulled away with a 14-0 run over the next four minutes to take a 39-19 lead with 4:42 left in the half.
