Summary

What Happened
Trailing 25-16 midway in the second quarter, the Saints used a 13-2 run to grab the lead by halftime. Ali Ringering had consecutive baskets, and after a QU hoop, the Saints reeled off a 9-0 burst. Kayla Steward sank a 3-pointer, and Sherwood hit back-to-back layups. Steward converted two free throws for a 29-27 lead at halftime.

The score was tied at 29-29 before Maryville went on an 11-2 burst with all the points coming from Sherwood. She buried consecutive 3-pointers to start the run. The Lady Hawks scored but Sherwood sank a jumper. Her third 3-pointer provided Maryville its biggest lead of the day at 40-31. Quincy ended the third with a rush and closed the gap to 45-44. QU scored the first six points of the fourth for a 50-45 advantage. The Saints answered and eventually retook the lead at 55-53 on two Ringering free throws with 5:23 left. However, Quincy tallied the next 10 points to jump back ahead and held the Saints off for the win.
