Kansas City, Mo. - The Maryville men's lacrosse team played its first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game against No. 20 Colorado-Mesa Saturday in Kansas City. However, the Saints fell behind 5-0 after one quarter and lost a 23-2 decision in a game played at Rockhurst University.

The Mavericks jumped out to the early lead and stretched the advantage to 10-0 by halftime. The Saints were unable to score in the third quarter but finally broke through early in the fourth.
Austin Myers tallied his first goal of the year at the 8:12 mark of the final period.
Tristan Snellgrove collected a pass from
Justin Amling and recorded a goal at the 4:40 mark. It was the second straight outing in which Snellgrove has scored.

In goal,
William DeVinney finished with 12 saves on the day. Keegan Pierce picked up three ground balls on the day for the Saints, who fell to 0-3 on the year. Four different players notched three goals to pace the Mavericks (4-1 overall, 1-1 RMAC).

The Saints return home Saturday, March 4, when they host the University of Indianapolis at Maryville Field.
