The No. 4 ranked Maryville wrestling team made the short trip to St. Charles, Mo., to face Lindenwood and took the last four matches to record a 22-14 win Wednesday evening.
The host Lions took the first two matches with major decisions but Nate Rodriguez answered with a fall at the 2:13 mark in the 141-pound classification. James Krischke gave the Saints a 9-8 lead in the team standings by virtue of a 4-2 sudden victory at 149. Lindenwood followed with two more wins before the Saints closed with a run. At 174 pounds, Tyler Harrington cruised to a 10-2 major triumph, and Zeb Wahle notched a win at 184 with an 11-6 decision to edge the Saints back ahead 16-14. Ethan Sherertz posted a 5-0 shutout at 197, and Donnell Walker sealed the team victory with a 3-2 decision in the heavyweights.
The Saints close out the regular season with three matches Sunday, Feb. 12, at the Dr. Lombardi Duals. Maryville takes on Truman State, Ouachita Baptist and Notre Dame College.
