St. Louis - The Maryville lacrosse team scored four straight goals and recorded a season-high 10 scores but Colorado State-Pueblo rallied for an 18-10 win Friday afternoon at Maryville Field. The Saints surpassed their previous best total of seven goals early in the third quarter.
 
The Thunderwolves took a 3-0 lead just over five minutes into the game before the Saints reeled off four consecutive scores. Tristan Snellgrove notched his fourth goal of the season, and Justin Amling followed with his fourth score of the year. Jacob Campbell pulled the Saints even at 3-3 off an assist from Amling, and Snellgrove gave the Saints a 4-3 advantage with nine seconds left in the first quarter.
 
CSUP responded with three in-a-row until Amling answered for Maryville. The Thunderwolves built a 7-5 edge but the Saints responded. Nick Witte fired a shot into the back of the cage, and James Alexander tied the game at 7-7 at the 2:59 mark of the second quarter. However, the visitors scored twice in the final minute to grab a 9-7 lead at halftime.
 
The Saints pulled to within one score when Jacob Campbell converted on a man-up situation as Maryville cut the margin down to one. The Thunderwolves tacked on a goal in the third and two more to open the fourth quarter for some breathing room. Witte rocketed in another score but 15-10 was as close as the Saints could get.
 
Four different Saints had at least two goals, and seven different players notched at least one point. Maryville is next in action when it hosts Rockhurst, Saturday, April 1.
