Belleville, Ill. - The Maryville men's lacrosse team recorded its first victory in program history as the Saints rolled past Lindenwood-Belleville 17-3 Tuesday evening in Belleville, Ill. The Saints set school records for goals scored as well as fewest goals allowed in the triumph.

Brenden Symons scored 3:28 into the game as the Saints roared out of the gates.
Nick Witte scored at the 8:25 mark, and
Jacob Campbell tallied the first of his program-record five goals on the night. After
Mathieu Jung scored his first of the season, Campbell and Witte both found the back of the net.
Justin Amling fired in a shot as the Saints surged to a 7-0 lead. The Lynx finally broke through in the final minute of the quarter as Maryville took a 7-1 advantage after the first 15 minutes.

Zach Steltzer opened the scoring in the second, and after a Lynx tally, Witte fired in another goal to complete his hat trick.
James Alexander's goal pushed the Saints ahead 10-3. Campbell scored two goals 10 seconds apart as the Saints settled for a 12-3 lead at intermission.

Tristan Snellgrove and
Austin Myers accounted for the only two goals in the third quarter. Campbell opened the fourth quarter with his fifth score of the night, and Witte chipped in his fourth goal.
Christopher Garcia scored his first goal of the season to close out the scoring.

Campbell scored his five goals on nine shots. In addition to his four goals, Witte added three assists for seven points on the night. Ten different players scored for Maryville.
William DeVinney came up with nine saves as he allowed the fewest goals on the season in the win. Myers won 20 of 23 faceoffs in the contest.

The Saints are now 1-13 on the season. Maryville closes out its inaugural season with a game at Lindenwood Saturday, April 29, in St. Charles, Mo.
