St. Louis – The Maryville University women's soccer team opened the 2017 exhibition schedule with a 4-0 win over Missouri Baptist Saturday morning at Maryville Field.
What Happened – After a scoreless first 30 minutes of action,
Casey Gonzales scored from six yards out to give the Saints a 1-0 lead. A pair of freshman then scored the next two goals as
Amanda Kaltwasser and
Alex Johnson each found the back of the net to extend the lead to 3-0. The final goal took place as the Spartans attempted to pass the ball back to their goalkeeper and it ended up in goal to give Maryville a 4-0 lead.
Up Next – The Saints will travel to take on the defending Division III Champions Washington University Wednesday, August 23rd at Francis Field. The exhibition match is slated to start at 5 p.m.
