St. Louis – The Maryville University women's soccer team battled back from an early deficit to earn a 1-1 draw with the defending Division III National Champions, Washington University in exhibition action Wednesday afternoon at Francis Field.  
 
What Happened – The Bears opened the scoring in the first of three 30 minute sessions with a goal in the 20th minute to grab a 1-0 advantage. After the teams turned the pre-season affair into a defensive match over the next 60 minutes, Amanda Kaltwasser found the back of the net in the 81st minute to tie the match at 1-1.
 
Up Next – Maryville concludes their exhibition schedule on Sunday, August 27, as the Saints will take on LIndenwood University. The match is slated to start at 3 p.m. at Maryville Field.
