2018 Midwest Duals at UNK
At the Midwest Duals hosted by Nebraska-Kearney, the No. 19 Maryville wrestling team posted a 1-3 mark on the day, including a one-point loss and another to a nationally-ranked squad. The Saints lost to the No. 12 hosts 28-9, beat Colorado-Mesa 23-21, were edged by Colorado State-Pueblo 25-24 and dropped a decision to Fort Hays State 29-12.

Against 12th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney,
Matt Pratt,
John Anderson and
Bailey Kelly all notched wins but the team did not pick up any bonus points. In defeating Colorado-Mesa,
Jaret Singh notched a win at 125 followed by
James Krischke's 16-1 tech fall in the 149 weight class.
Nick McGhee notched a fall at the 3:40 mark at 165, while Dustin #Politte# pinned his 197 foe in 4:08.
Ethan Sherertz posted an SV-2 win by a 12-10 margin in the heavyweights.

Versus CSU-Pueblo,
Michael Cook notched a 9-4 win at 133, while Krischke notched his fall in 2:25.
Mladen Vasilev followed with a quick fall in just 45 seconds in his 174 match.
Tyler Harrington picked up an 8-2 decision, and Politte recorded a pin in 3:29 to take his 197 tilt.

In their final match of the day, the Saints won four straight matches in the middle of the weight classes but were unable to overcome Fort Hays State's bonus points and a medical forfeit. Krischke and McGhee took decisions at 149 and 157, respectively. Anderson won his match at 165 by a 6-3 count, and Harrington emerged with a 4-2 decision in SV-1.
