What HappenedÂ
The Tritons hit a 3-pointer on the opening possession of the game and took a 5-0 lead.
Stephanie Sherwood sank a 3-pointer to get the Saints on the board.
Mary Barton converted four free throws as the Saints were down 13-7. The Tritons tallied nine straight to grab a double-digit margin. UMSL led by 14 after one quarter and edged ahead midway in the second. The Saints scored six straight to answer.
Kayla Steward scored on a layup, and
Ali Ringering hit a jumper in traffic. Barton made two free throws to pull to 34-21.

In the third quarter, Steward scored consecutive layups, and
Adrienne Horn had a bucket and two free throws during an 8-0 run. UMSL still was up 68-49 before the Saints made one last push with an 11-4 burst. Ringering had a three-point play, and after an UMSL score, Steward splashed in a triple. The Saints got as close as 72-60 with over two minutes to play but never trimmed the gap to single digits.
