Barton and Ringering Pace Saints Past Prairie Stars 65-59

Summary
Mary Barton and Ali Ringering both scored 15 points apiece to lead the Maryville women's basketball team to a 65-59 victory over Illinois Springfield Saturday afternoon. Adrienne Horn added 11 points and seven rebounds off the bench.
 
What Happened
Trailing by one at halftime, the Saints surged ahead on a 3-pointer by Ringering and bucket by Barton. UIS scored but a nailed a 3-pointer to trigger an 11-0 burst. Horn sank one free throw, and Stephanie Sherwood drilled a triple. Horn scored inside for a 41-31 advantage. Sherwood had a three-point play for a 43-31 lead.
 
The Saints took a 46-35 cushion into the fourth before UIS rallied. Maryville led 51-40 but the Prairie Stars scored nine straight to close to 51-49. Horn scored back-to-back layups and her three-point play restored the Saints lead to 56-49 with 4:04 to play. UIS closed to 59-56 but the Saints sank six free throws in the final minute to close out the win.
