What Happened
The Saints built a double-digit lead in the third quarter before Truman State rallied. Maryville settled for a 59-56 margin heading into the fourth. Still up 65-63,
Stephanie Sherwood sank a jumper and a 3-pointer by
Ali Ringering pushed the Saints up 70-63 with 5:52 left. The teams traded baskets before Ringering had one free throw and later scored on a layup for a 75-67 lead. Truman hit a 3-pointer but Ringering answered with a triple for a 79-70 edge with 2:34 to play. However, the visitors tallied 10 straight points to go up 80-79 with 12 seconds remaining. The Saints called time out and in bounded the ball in front of their bench. Steward drove the left side of the lane and floated in a 14-footer for the game-winning basket.
