Evansville, Ind. – After holding the lead at halftime, the Maryville women's soccer team surrendered three goals in the second half to fall to Southern Indiana 3-1 Friday evening at Strassweg Field in Evansville, Ind.
What Happened – Stacie Muehling got the Saints going in the 16
th minute as she scored off a free kick from 20-yards out to give Maryville a 1-0 lead. The Screaming Eagles tied the match in the 63
rd minute as a shot that was deflected found the goal and then took the lead three minutes later with a score from 4-yards out. Southern Indiana added an insurance goal in the 87
th minute to secure the win.
Inside the Numbers – The goal for Muehling was her third of the season. Each team had 12 shots on the day with both squads putting seven shots on frame.
Alex Johnson paced the Maryville attack with three shots.
