JD Sohn scored late in the second half to aid the Maryville men's soccer team to a hard fought 1-1 draw against Quincy Friday night at Legends Stadium in Quincy, Ill.
What Happened – The Hawks opened the scoring in the 14
th minute with a goal from 5-yards out to take a 1-0 lead over the Saints. The game stayed that way until the 81
st minute when Sohn took a pass from
Rasmus Tauts and buried a shot from 10-yards away to even the match at 1-1. Each team had four shots a piece in the extra sessions, but either squad could score as the game ended in a draw.
Inside the Numbers – The goal for Sohn was his second of the season while Tauts added his third helper on the year. The Saints held a 19-8 advantage in shots with nine of those being on frame.
Helmut Florencia paced the Maryville attack with four shots.
