Helmut Florencia scored midway through the first half to aid the Maryville men's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Lewis Sunday afternoon at Lewis Stadium in Romeoville, Ill.
What Happened – Florencia got the Saints going in the 22nd minute as he collected a pass from
Diego Coy and scored from 10-yards out to give Maryville a 1-0 lead.
Mirza Hasecic added an insurance goal in the 82nd minute as he took a pass from
Ricardo Andrade and found the back of the net from 12-yards out to give the Saints a 2-0 advantage.
Inside the Numbers – The Saints held a 11-5 edge in shots with four of those being on goal. Florencia led the Saints with four shots while Hasecic added three shots in the win.
Christian Kjaersgaard faced five shots in earning his sixth clean sheet of the year.
