St. Louis – Christian Kjaersgaard posted his second consecutive shut-out as the Maryville University men's soccer team defeated Missouri S&T 1-0 Wednesday afternoon at Maryville Field to close out the regular season.
 
What Happened – Despite a scoreless first half, both teams had opportunities to score in the opening 45 minutes. Helmut Florencia had a pair of headers go off the posts and after a Maryville foul in the box, Kjaersgaard make a tremendous save on a Miner penalty kick with two minutes remaining in the half to keep the game scoreless. Cameron Paton put the Saints ahead in the 73rd minute as he took a pass from Dom Riggio and hit a strike from the left side of box to give Maryville a 1-0 lead. 
 
Inside the Numbers – The Saints had a season high14 shots on thewith five of those being on frame. The goal for Paton was his second of the season while Riggo earned his fourth helper of the year. Kjaersgaard had four saves in garnering his seventh clean sheet of the year.
