Cassidy Arndt recorded her second straight double-double with 10 kills and 15 digs but could not prevent the Saints from dropping a 3-0 decision to Illinois Springfield. The Prairie Stars won 25-22, 25-20, 25-14.

What Happened
An Arndt kill pushed the Saints ahead 7-6 in the opening set. UIS edged ahead but the Saints kept the margin close. Maryville was down just one point, the last at 14-13, but were unable to force a tie. UIS pushed a 19-17 edge to 22-17 before closed again to 24-22 after a kill by
Faith Ahlhardt. The Prairie Stars scored the final point to take the set.

The Saints took an early lead in set two and were leading 7-6 after a UIS error. The Prairie Stars tallied five straight to open up their edge. Maryville kept within two points, including at 21-19 before USI went on a 4-1 run.

UIS scored five of the first six points in the third set until
Allison Lakin put down a kill. Arndt finished off a pass from
Mikaela Kues to trim the deficit to 8-5 but Maryville never got closer than five points the rest of the way.
