The Maryville volleyball team looked to spring an upset at #23 Lewis but the Flyers hit a sparkling .376 to down the Saints in three sets.

What Happened
The Saints led early in the opening set and still held a 6-5 edge after an Allison Lakin kill. The score was tied at 9-9 before the Flyers took a 16-12 lead. Maryville made a charge with three straight points, capped by consecutive kills by Cassidy Arndt. The Saints still trailed by just one at 21-20 but Lewis scored the final four points of the set. Set two was tied at 5-5 before the Flyers pulled away with eight straight points. Taylor Schellert notched a kill until Lewis added a 7-0 run. In the final set, the home side took a 12-6 edge. The Saints closed the gap with four consecutive points to get to within 12-10 but were unable to trim the deficit to a single point as Lewis closed out the win.
