Amanda Kaltwasser scored a pair of goals and added an assist as the Maryville women's soccer team defeated Missouri S&T 3-0 Wednesday afternoon at Maryville Field.
Elyse Waterhouse faced two shots to earn her fourth consecutive shut-out of the year in the victory.
What Happened – The Saints got on the scoreboard early in the contest as Kaltwasser took a cross from
Casey Gonzales and found the back of the net from 6-yards out to give Maryville a 1-0 lead in the 15
th minute. Kaltwasser extended the lead with a goal in the 59
th minute as she slid a shot past the Miners goalkeeper from 3-yards out to give Maryville a 2-0 advantage.
Caite Huesgen gave the Saints a three-goal cushion as she collected a pass from Kaltwasser and drilled a shot from 17-yards out to give Maryville a 3-0 lead in the 66
th minute.
Inside the Numbers – The Saints held an 11-2 advantage in shots with Kaltwasser leading the way with four. Kaltwasser's goals were her fifth and sixth of the season and she now is leading the team 16 points.
