Drury recap
The Maryville volleyball team looked to challenge No. 12 Drury but the Panthers hit .420 in the contest to prevent the Saints from earning their first Great Lakes Valley Conference win. Drury won by set scores of 25-7, 25-15, 25-15 in Springfield, Mo.
What Happened
Liz Eardly had the first kill of the match but Drury scored five of the first six points to open set one.
Kayla Nystedt added a kill before the hosts built a double-digit lead.
Katie Verseman had a kill, and Nystedt notched a solo block but that was as close as the Saints could get in the opener.

Faith Ahlhardt opened set two with consecutive blocks for a quick 2-0 lead. Lakin put down a kill for a 5-4 lead until Drury used a big run to grab the lead. The Saints went on a 4-1 run late in the set but Drury held on to take a 2-0 lead.

In the final set, Drury opened with a flurry of kills before
Natalia Pia and Lakin got the Saints on the board with back-to-back kills. Maryville had its best run with a 6-1 burst to cut the gap down to 16-10 after an Eardly kill. The Saints closed to 18-13 after a Drury hitting error but the Panthers closed out the match for their third straight win.
