Amanda Kaltwasser and
Alex Johnson each scored a goal and added an assist to pace the Maryville women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Missouri – St. Louis Sunday afternoon at Maryville Field. The Saints have won five out of their last six matches.
What Happened – Caite Huesgen put the Saints in the lead in the 24
th minute as she collected a pass from Kaltwasser and placed a shot past the goalkeeper to give Maryville a 1-0 lead. The Saints extended the lead four minutes later as Kaltwasser took a pass from Johnson and scored from 6-yards out to give Maryville a 2-0 advantage. Johnson then scored an insurance goal for the Saints in the 86
th minute as she ripped a shot from 15-yards out on the left wing to give the Saints a 3-0 advantage.
Inside the Numbers – Maryville held a 7-5 advantage in shots with five of those shots being on frame. Johnson's goal was her team-high fifth of the season.
Elyse Waterhouse earned her third win of the season and her first career clean sheet.
