Davenport recap
Mary Barton led five Maryville women's basketball players in double figures with 14 points as the Saints recorded their first victory of the season 71-64 at Davenport.
Hunter Stidham scored 13 points, while
Katie Diakhaby,
Stephanie Sherwood and
Kayla Steward all registered 10 points.

What Happened
The Saints held a 37-36 lead at halftime, and Steward opened the third quarter with a layup. Sherwood followed with an inside bucket for a 41-36 advantage. Ahead by just one,
Brooklyn Chaffin drained a 3-pointer, and Stidham scored on a layup. Barton sank a jumper as the Saints built a 52-44 lead at the 3:37 mark. The edge was 56-49 in the final minute but Davenport hit a late three to close the gap to just four. In the fourth quarter, Maryville still was up by one before Diakhaby scored on back-to-back trips for a 62-57 lead with 7:44 remaining. Davenport closed to 64-61 but both defenses took over as neither team scored for almost four minutes. Steward scored on a layup, and two Barton free throws stretched the edge to 68-61 with 29 seconds left.
UU Longs converted two free throws with 12 ticks remaining to put the game away.
