Casey Teson, the Maryville men's basketball team defeated Walsh 89-76 in the second game of the GLVC-GMAC Crossover. Teson tallied 26 points, while
Chaz Glotta finished with 18.
Eugene Jones nailed five 3-pointers en route to career highs of 17 points and eight rebounds. The Saints had the second best 3-point shooting performance in school history by hitting 68.1 percent (15-22).

What Happened
Maryville held a narrow lead for most of the first half and the score was tied at 37-37 with four minutes remaining. Jones scored inside, and
Dezmond McDaniel sank a jumper. Walsh hit a 3-pointer but McDaniel answered with a layup. After a
Jordan Gary free throw, Teson drilled a 3-pointer to give the Saints a 47-40 lead at halftime.

The Saint were still leading 54-51 before taking control by scoring 16 straight. McDaniel started the burst with a jumper, and Teson and Glotta both added buckets. Hoops by
Jerome Davis and Teson took the edge to 64-51. Back-to-back triples by Jones and Teson gave Maryville a 70-51 cushion. The Cavaliers finally scored after nearly five minutes of standout defense by the Saints. A Glotta jumper pushed the Saints up by 20, and his 3-pointer built the largest margin of the game at 84-61 with 4:34 left.

The only team 3-point shooting performance that was better than the 68.1 percent against Walsh was the school record of 71.4 percent (10-of-14) at Lincoln Nov. 26, 2012.
