What Happened
The Saints were down by two points after the first quarter but used a strong second to take a 27-24 lead at the break. Maryville held UIS to just nine points and outscored the Prairie Stars by five points. Steward began the push with a jumper, and Mary Barton stole the ball and scored on a layup for a 23-22 lead. Ali Ringering nailed a jumper in the lane for a three-point lead. Barton sank two free throws leading to a 27-24 lead at halftime.

However, The Saints offense stalled in the third quarter and UIS grabbed the lead Ellen Foster converted a layup and a 31-28 cushion. The Prairie Stars scored 11 points to retake the lead and a 42-33 heading to the fourth. A Ringering jumper pulled the Saints to within 42-37 with eight minutes to play but Maryville was unable to trim the gap to one possession.
