St. Louis – The Maryville University women's soccer team needed a goal late in regulation to earn a 1-1 draw with Ohio Valley Saturday afternoon at Maryville Field.
What Happened – After a scoreless first half, the Fighting Scots scored off a free kick in the 46
th minute to grab a 1-0 lead. The Saints tallied the equalizing goal in the 89
th minute as
Alex Johnson put a loose ball in the net from 4-yards out to tie the contest at 1-1. The teams played on even terms in the overtime periods with Ohio Valley did not allow a shot by the Saints.
Inside the Numbers – Both teams finished the match with eight shots a piece.
Allison Verville,
Amanda Kaltwasser, and Johnson each had two shots for Maryville.
