Springfield, Ill.  – Illinois – Springfield scored a goal late in the match to edge the Maryville University women's soccer team 1-0 Friday evening at Kiwanis Stadium in Springfield, Ill.
 
What Happened –The two teams played in a scoreless battle over the first 88 minutes of action. The match changed in the 89th minute as the Prairie Stars scored off a breakaway with a shot that just got past Saints goalkeeper Alison Riddle and into the goal for the win.
 
Inside the Numbers – Maryville held a 16-5 advantage in shots with Allison Verville taking five strikes in the contest. Riddle finished the game with one save as UIS had two shots on goal.
