Allison Lakin pounded down a season-high 10 kills but the Maryville volleyball team was not able to spring the upset over No. 17 Drury. The Panthers prevailed 25-15, 25-13, 25-11 to remain undefeated in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.

What Happened
The Panthers scored the first five points of the match before the Saints tacked on two points. Down 16-9, the Saints reeled off a 4-0 burst. After a DU error, Lakin and
Kayla Nystedt had a block. Lakin added a kill, and an ace by
Mikaela Kues pulled the Saints to 16-13. However, Drury answered with four straight and held on for the win.

Maryville grabbed the early lead in set two with kills by
Faith Ahlhardt,
Taylor Schellert and a DU miscue. Drury took the lead but Lakin's kill forged a 6-6 tie. The Panthers scored six of the next eight points and took a comfortable lead in set two.

Drury jumped on top to open the third set before kills by Arndt and Ahlhardt put the Saints on the board. The Panthers edged ahead but Maryville twice trimmed the lead to four. The Saints were down 12-8 but the visitors sealed the win with four straight points.
