Missouri S&T Recap
The Maryville volleyball team made a strong bid for its first Great Lakes Valley Conference victory before Missouri S&T took a 3-1 decision Saturday afternoon in Moloney Arena. The Miners won set one 25-13 before Maryville claimed set two 25-21. However, MST took the last two sets by matching 25-14 scores.

What Happened
The Miners scored five of the first six points of the match to grab the early advantage. The Saints scored two straight points to trim the gap to two points. Later, Maryville used a 3-1 run but the visitors held on for a 1-0 lead. The Saints led 8-6 in set two before reeling off five straight points.
Kayla Nystedt had a kill to launch the run. After an S&T error,
Cassidy Arndt pounded down a kill. Maryville eventually stretched the lead to 13-6. The Saints were up 17-14 and tacked on a 5-1 burst.
Allison Lakin notched back-to-back kills before the Miners scored.
Liz Eardly had a kill, and
Taylor Stirton served two straight aces to build a 22-15 cushion. The Saints closed out the set to even the match.

Arndt's kill tied set three at 7-7. However, the Miners used a 5-0 run to assume command and eased to the win in the third set. Nystedt and
Faith Ahlhardt had a block to pull the Saints to within 6-4 in the fourth set. Missouri S&T tallied eight straight and pulled away late to end the match in four sets.
