McKendree recap
The Maryville volleyball lost in straight sets in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match at McKendree Friday evening in Lebanon, Ill. The Bearcats posted a 25-19, 25-11, 25-13 decision over the Saints.
What Happened
The Saints scored the first two points of the day on a McKendree miscue and a block by
Allison Lakin and
Taylor Schellert for a 2-0 edge. The match was tied at 7-7 before the Bearcats scored three straight. The Saints got as close as 11-10 but McKendree tallied four straight to pull away for the win.
Taylor Stirton served an ace for a 3-2 advantage in the second set. McKendree retook the lead but the Saints battled back to 8-6 after a kill by
Faith Ahlhardt. The Bearcats later used a 6-0 to close out the win. In the final set.
A.J. Hallemann recorded a service ace as Maryville built a 4-2 edge. The Bearcats took a 7-6 lead and stretched the margin to 12-6.
