Casey Teson surpassed 1,000 points for his collegiate career but Southern Indiana spoiled the evening by defeating Maryville 80-75 Thursday in Moloney Arena. Teson tallied a game-high 28 points against the Screaming Eagles and has scored 1,010 points during his playing career.
 
What Happened
In a game neither team led by more than seven points, the Saints broke a 55-55 tie by scoring four straight. Eugene Jones hit two free throws, and Teson scored on a layup for a 59-55 edge with 6:53 to play. USI hit two free throws before Robin Thompson sank one at the stripe. The Screaming Eagles went up 62-60 with 5:33 remaining. Chaz Glotta drilled a long 3-pointer to pull the Saints to 65-63. Another bucket by Glotta trimmed the USI edge to just 70-69 at the 2:17 mark. However, the visitors scored the next six points to hold off Maryville.
