St. Louis – Despite having a 19-6 advantage in shots, the second-ranked Maryville men's soccer team dropped its first contest of the season to the University of Missouri-St. Louis, 1-0 Friday evening at the Lou Fusz Soccer Complex.
What Happened – After a scoreless first 45 minutes, the Tritons placed a shot into the upper left corner of the net in the 61
st minute to grab a 1-0 lead. Maryville had numerous opportunities in the latter stages of the game to score but could not find the back of the net as the Tritons held on for the upset.
Inside the Numbers – Mirza Hasecic led the Saints with four shots while
Rasmus Tauts added three shots.
Braden Johnson and
Helmut Florencia each had a pair of shots on goal in the loss.
