Quincy Recap
Cassidy Arndt notched a double-double but could not prevent the Maryville volleyball team from a three-set loss at Quincy. The Hawks held off the Saints 25-9, 25-21, 25-18. Arndt finished with 10 kills and 10 digs to lead Maryville.

What Happened
The Hawks tallied the first three points of the match and seven of the opening nine points to grab a lead they would not surrender. QU hit .571 in the first set. Quincy took a 13-6 edge before Elizabeth Eardly had a kill to start a 4-0 run. The Hawks grabbed an 18-11 cushion but the Saints answered with five straight. Mikaela Kues notched a kill, and Eardly served an ace. Kues and Taylor Schellert had a block, and after a QU error, Arndt's kill drew the Saints to 18-16. Maryville grabbed its first lead of the match with a 4-0 burst capped by an Arndt kill for a 20-19 advantage. Schellert tied the set at 21-all but Quincy tallied the final four points.

The Saints charged ahead in the third set with a 5-1 run as the Saints recorded back-to-back blocks. After a QU kill, Maryville tacked on four straight points, and a Faith Ahlhardt kill built a 9-edge. The Saints were still up 13-10 before the Hawks took a 14-13 lead. Maryville stayed close but Quincy closed out the match with a 5-1 stretch.
