St. Louis – Despite having an advantage in shots on the afternoon, the 25
th-ranked Maryville men's soccer team and Truman State played to a 0-0 draw Sunday afternoon on Senior Day at Maryville Field.
What Happened – The Saints had many opportunities in the contest to score, including a blast from
Dom Riggio that rang off the post with 31 seconds left in regulation. In the second overtime, both
JD Sohn and
Helmut Florencia each had scoring chances, but the Bulldog goalkeeper kept the shots out of the net. The Saints controlled the pace play for most of the game and finished with a 65 percent possession rate.
Inside the Numbers – Maryville outshot Truman State 19-2 on the afternoon with eight of those being on goal. The Saints also held a 15-0 advantage in corner kicks.
