Louisville, Ky. –  After a scoreless first half, Bellarmine scored early in the second frame and held on to defeat the Maryville women's soccer team 1-0 Friday afternoon at O.B. Frazier Stadium in Louisville, Ky.
 
What Happened – The teams played to a scoreless tie after the first 45 minutes of action. The Knights had a pair of scoring opportunities in the half, but 
Elyse Waterhouse made two outstanding saves to keep Bellarmine off the scoreboard. The Knights grabbed the lead in the 49
th minute with a goal to take a 1-0 lead. Maryville had a pair of chances in the later stages of the match as 
Kennedy Reeser and 
Kristen Sparks each had a chance to score, but the Bellarmine goalkeeper was able to stop both shots to preserve the win.
 
Inside the Numbers – Bellarmine outshot the Saints 15-5 in the contest while holding a 5-3 advantage with shots on goal. Sparks paced Maryville with three shots in the game.
