Women's Soccer Falls to Bellarmine 1-0

Louisville, Ky. –  After a scoreless first half, Bellarmine scored early in the second frame and held on to defeat the Maryville women's soccer team 1-0 Friday afternoon at O.B. Frazier Stadium in Louisville, Ky.
 
What Happened – The teams played to a scoreless tie after the first 45 minutes of action. The Knights had a pair of scoring opportunities in the half, but Elyse Waterhouse made two outstanding saves to keep Bellarmine off the scoreboard. The Knights grabbed the lead in the 49th minute with a goal to take a 1-0 lead. Maryville had a pair of chances in the later stages of the match as Kennedy Reeser and Kristen Sparks each had a chance to score, but the Bellarmine goalkeeper was able to stop both shots to preserve the win.
 
Inside the Numbers – Bellarmine outshot the Saints 15-5 in the contest while holding a 5-3 advantage with shots on goal. Sparks paced Maryville with three shots in the game.
