Indianapolis – The University of Indianapolis scored a pair of goals in the first half en route to a 2-0 victory over the Maryville University women's soccer team Sunday afternoon at Key Stadium in Indianapolis.
What Happened – The Greyhounds opened the scoring in the 16
th with a goal from the corner of the 18-yard box to take a 1-0 lead. UIndy added to the lead in the 23
rd minute with a goal off a corner kick to make the score 2-0. That is all the Greyhounds needed as their defense limited the Saints to five shots in the second half.
Inside the Numbers – UIndy held a 17-10 advantage in shots on the afternoon with eight being on frame.
Alex Johnson paced the Saints with three shots while
Madison Schmied added a pair of shots.
Elyse Waterhouse was credited with six saves in the loss.
