Braden Johnson jumped started the third-ranked Maryville men's soccer team's offense with a pair of goals en route to a 5-0 victory over William Jewell on Sunday afternoon at Green Stadium in Liberty, Mo.
What Happened – Johnson started things off for the Saints as he buried a pass from
Cole Johnson from 10-yards out in the 14
th minute to put Maryville on top 1-0. Johnson added his second goal of the game in the 55
th minute as he found the back of the net from two-yards outs.
Grady Schliepsiek extended the lead to 3-0 four minutes later as he pushed a rebound past the Cardinals goalkeeper into the lower left corner of the goal.
Mirza Hasecic continued the scoring in the 80
th minute while
Eyob Tadesse closed the match out as he found the net in the 83
rd minute.
Inside the Numbers – The Saints had a season-high 27 shots in the contest with 13 of those being on frame.
Liam Walraven had two saves as he and
Max Simonazzi combined for the Saints sixth consecutive clean sheet.
