Barnett and Parker Long Score 18 Points Apiece Versus Hannibal-LaGrange

Parker Long and Malik Barnett scored 18 points apiece but Hannibal-LaGrange used a big second-half run to down Maryville 75-65. Chris Williams was the third Maryville player in double figures and had 17 points and a team-high eight rebounds. The Saints had a 16-0 run that bridged halftime but the Trojans shot 53.3 percent in the second half to key the rally.
 
What Happened
Down 31-27, the Saints scored 11 straight points to close out the first half. Williams hit a short jumper to start the run, and Long added two free throws. A deep 3-pointer by Barnett pushed Maryville on top 34-31. Long scored in transition, and Williams' bucket was good for a 38-31 lead at intermission.
 
Barnett scored the first five points to open the second half for a 43-31 advantage. Kamto Eze grabbed an offensive rebounds for a putback and a 49-36 cushion with 15:43 to go. However, the Trojans heated up from the field and took a 50-49 lead. Long and Williams hit consecutive hoops as Maryville went back ahead. Long sank two free throws, and a fastbreak layup by Williams pushed the Saints out to a 57-50 lead. Hannibal-LaGrange used a 14-2 run down the stretch to pull away. The Saints forced the Trojans into 21 turnovers but the visitors sank nine 3-pointers that proved to be the difference.
