Lindenwood Recap
The Maryville volleyball team was looking to post its second Great Lakes Valley Conference victory of the season but Lindenwood prevailed in three sets in the evening. The Lions won 25-17, 25-22, 25-19. The Saints hit a sparkling .500 in the second set to highlight the night.
Cassidy Arndt topped Maryville with 12 kills, while
Faith Ahlhardt had 10 kills while hitting nearly .300.

What Happened
The Saints scored four straight points to grab and 4-1 lead, capped by a
Taylor Schellert kill. Lindenwood slowly inched ahead before the Saints scored two consecutive points to trim the Lion lead to 8-7. The visitors scored six of the next seven points to take control of the set. Â
Lindenwood jumped ahead but the Saints roared back into the set with a 5-1 burst.
Allison Lakin had a kill, and
Kayla Buxton served an ace. LU tallied one point but a hitting error and back-to-back kills by
Cassidy Arndt pulled the Saints to within 12-10. The teams traded points until an LU miscue and Buxton ace put the score at 18-16. The Saints saved two match points but Lindenwood held on for the three-point win. The Lions hit .375 but Maryville was even better with 12 kills and just two errors on 20 swings.

The Lions scored the first three points but the Saints rallied to forge a 7-7 tie. Maryville was still only down 10-9 but Lindenwood tallied five straight to grab a 15-9 edge.
Faith Ahlhardt recorded four straight kills as Maryville managed to get the deficit down to 17-15. However, the Lions kept control of the lead with five points in a row and held off the Saints.
