Stephanie Sherwood tallied 20 points as the Maryville women's basketball team put four players in double figures and raced past Indianapolis 80-65 Thursday evening. The Saints sank 10 3-pointers, including six in the first quarter, to key the win. The victory is the 10th in Great Lakes Valley Conference play for the Saints.

What Happened
The Saints were scorching hot from deep early and sank six 3-pointers to grab a 24-12 lead after the first quarter.
Stephanie Sherwood drained three triples to spark the long-range shooting. She had a three-point play as the Saints took their largest lead of the half at 29-14. Maryville cooled off a bit in the second quarter but held the Greyhounds to just 37.5 percent shooting in the frame as the Saints took a 37-26 advantage into the break.

Sherwood scored on a jumper in the paint, and
Mary Barton drove the middle for a layup as Maryville opened a 41-26 cushion. UIndy cut the gap to 52-45 before
Kayla Steward made a pull-up jumper in traffic. Her 3-pointer from the left wing pushed the margin to 57-45 heading into the fourth quarter.

UIndy scored to open the final frame but Steward sank consecutive jumpers to keep the Saints ahead 61-49 at the 8:31 mark.
Abby Monis powered up for a layup to keep the Maryville margin at 66-52 with six minutes to play. UIndy cut the deficit to 10 but the Saints maintained a double-digit lead and cruised to the victory.

Steward finished with 19 points, while Barton had 14 and Monis added 10. The Saints committed just nine turnovers while forcing the Greyhounds in to 17.
