Lucas Shafer cranked up seven points on four goals and three assists as the Maryville men's lacrosse team defeated Lincoln Memorial Monday afternoon.
Ty Wenck tallied two crucial late goals to seal the victory as the Saints improved to 4-1 on the season.

The Saints stormed out of the gates by scoring seven of the first eight goals. Shafer stuck in the second minute, and
Owen Kehoe found the back of the net 90 seconds later. Richard Cato Jr., tallied the third goal and his third of the season.
Jayden Fraser pushed the advantage to 4-0 at the 9:39 mark.
Jacob Allen made it 5-0 midway through the quarter before LMU finally got on the board. Shafer completed his hat trick before the end of the opening period with two more goals and a 7-1 advantage.

LMU tallied late in the first quarter and early in the second to trim the Maryville advantage to 7-3. Fraser answered for the Saints. LMU scored but Shafer beat the halftime buzzer with a long shot for a 9-4 advantage at the break.
Zach Steltzer scored the only goal of the third quarter as the Saints grabbed a 10-4 cushion.

The Railsplitters rallied with four straight goals and closed to 10-8. The Saints went down a man at the 6:37 mark but killed off the LMU advantage. Wenck tallied for an 11-8 lead, and his score with 1:19 remaining sealed the victory.

Liam Coyle was strong in the cage and came up with 14 stops, including four in the final quarter. Fraser matched Wenck with two goals and added two assists.
Jared Harrison notched four CTs, while
Jordan Shumate recorded seven ground balls.
