Despite 26 points and seven rebounds from
Casey Teson, the Maryville men's basketball team lost at Missouri S&T Saturday afternoon 87-73. The Saints hit eight 3-pointers in the contest and committed only seven turnovers but were stymied by the hot-shooting Miners.

What Happened
The game was tied at 23-23 with 6:50 left in the first half before the Miners took a five-point lead. The Saints were down just 37-31 after a
Casey Teson jumper but Missouri S&T closed the half with a 9-0 run to build a 46-31 cushion.

Four minutes into the second half,
Dezmond McDaniel and
Chaz Glotta hit consecutive 3-pointers as the Saints closed to within 50-37. Missouri S&T scored the next nine points to stretch out its lead. Maryville answered with three straight 3-pointers as Glotta sank back-to-back triples, and Teson tacked on another from deep to pull back to within 59-46 at the 11:46 mark.

The Saints would not let the Miners get away and a 3-pointer from Teson trimmed the deficit to 12 points with five minutes remaining. A bucket by Glotta made the score 75-63 with 4:03 left. The Saints made one more charge and closed to 84-73 but were unable to trim the gap to single digits.
