Chaz Glotta drilled six 3-pointers to lead four Maryville men's basketball players in double figures as the Saints defeated Indianapolis 79-69 Thursday night.
Casey Teson added 18 points, while
Zach Colletta and
Jerome Davis notched 16 and 15 points, respectively. The victory is Maryville's first over UIndy in 10 all-time meetings.

What Happened
The Saints defense dominated from the opening tip as Maryville jumped out to an 18-4 lead. The score was tied at 4-4 at the 16:59 mark before the Saints went on a 14-0 run.
Jerome Davis started the run with a three-point play and added a jumper. Zach Coletta scored on a drive, and
Casey Teson followed.
Chaz Glotta drilled a 3-pointer, and
Robin Thompson layup built the 14-point lead at the 9:58 mark. During the run, the Saints forced UIndy to miss 11 straight shots, including all six 3-point attempts. The Greyhounds finally scored at the 8:51 mark to snap an eight-minute scoreless span

UIndy closed the gap to 18-11 but Glotta sank another triple, while Teson tacked on a jumper. The Saints kept the advantage, and Glotta's late 3-pointer was good for a 37-16 lead at halftime. The Maryville defense forced the Greyhounds into shooting 18.2 percent (6-of-33), including just 11.8 percent from beyond the arc.

Zach Colletta hit jumper for a 41-21 advantage early in the second half. UIndy crept back into the game with a 10-0. Colletta sank a basket to stem the tide for Maryville but the Saints still were leading 45-38. The Greyhounds again made a push before Glotta nailed a 3-pointer for a 10-point lead. With the shot clock running down,
Bobby Harvey drilled a long 3-pointer from the wing to stake the Saints to a 60-47 lead with 7:55 remaining. Two free throws by Colletta built a 62-49 lead with 6:38 left but the Greyhounds scored eight straight to cut the gap to 62-57. Colletta's basket ended the Maryville drought for a 64-57 edge with 5:09 to play.

UIndy got as close as 66-63 but Glotta nailed a huge 3-pointer for a 69-63 lead with 2:01 left to play. The lead was just four but
Jerome Davis worked free inside for a layup, and after a UIndy miss, Teson tallied a turnaround jumper from the baseline for a 73-65 advantage with 34.9 seconds to play. Teson sealed the win with six free throws in the waning seconds.

Glotta tied his second best scoring output of the season, while Davis' 15 point total is his highest in a league game this season.
