Ty Wenck scored with 5.4 seconds left in the game to send the Maryville men's lacrosse team to a thrilling 13-12 victory over No. 18 Saint Leo. The triumph is the first for the Saints over a nationally-ranked team. Maryville ran its school record winning streak to six.

What Happened
On the game-winning sequence,
Jayden Fraser caused a turnover deep in the Saint Leo end. He scooped up the ball and passed it to Wenck, who circled around on the far side of the goal. The sophomore fired a low shot into the bottom right corner for the game-winning goal.

The game was tied at 2-2 before the Saints surged with three straight scores.
Parker Lee tallied on a man-up situation, and
Lucas Shafer notched his first of five goals on the day. Wenck found the back of the net as the Saints led 5-2 after the first quarter. Saint Leo cut the gap and tied the game at 6-6. The Saints answered with another 3-0 run. Wenck started the burst, and Shafer tacked on two more for a 9-6 lead. However, Saint Leo scored just before halftime as Maryville led 9-7.

The Lions opened the third with four of the next five goal but
Ethan Symons took advantage of a man-up chance to tie the game 11-11 with two minutes to play in the third. The defenses took over as neither team scored until Lee pushed the Saints ahead at the 6:32 mark for a 12-11 lead. SLC's Philip Buque scored to tie the game at 12-all with 3:08 left to set up the dramatic late winner for Maryville.

Wenck finished with four goals on the day, while
Parker Lee finished with two scores.
Liam Coyle was strong in goal and posted 13 saves.
