Louisville, Ky. – The Bellarmine Knights pitching staff limited the Maryville University baseball team to five hits en route to a 10-1 victory over the Saints Monday afternoon at Knights Field in Louisville, Ky.
Game One:
The Knights opened the scoring in the first inning with a run and added another run in the third to make the score 2-0. Bellarmine then scored five runs in the fifth and sixth innings to take a 7-0 advantage over the Saints. The Saints were limited to four hits over the first seven innings of the contest, but they were able to push across a run in the eighth as
Drake Lubin reached base on an error and after advancing to third on a pair of ground outs, scored on a pass ball to make the score 7-1. The Knights tacked on three runs in the eighth frame to extend the lead to 10-1.
