Kansas City, Mo. – Three different players scored for the 19
th ranked Maryville University men's soccer team while
Rasmus Tauts added a pair of assists to pace the Saints to a 3-0 win over #12 Ft. Hays State Wednesday afternoon at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Mo.
What Happened – Mirza Hasecic opened the scoring for the Saints in the 15
th minute as he placed a shot from 18-yards out off a pass from Tauts to put Maryville ahead 1-0.
Braden Johnson extended the Saints lead in the 54
th minute as he took a pass from Tauts and tapped it in from 3-yards away to put Maryville on top 2-0.
Grady Schliepsiek added an insurance goal in the 77
th minute as he curled a shot inside the left post to make the score 3-0.
Inside the Numbers – The Saints out shot Ft. Hays 12-6 in the contest while not allowing the Tigers a shot on goal in the match. Hasecic paced the Maryville offense with four shots on the day.
Liam Walraven earned his first career clean sheet and improved to 3-0-0 on the year.
