St. Louis – The Maryville University women's soccer team scored in the first three minutes of the game and added a goal later in the first half en route to a 2-0 victory over Missouri S&T Sunday afternoon at Maryville Field.
What Happened – Amanda Kaltwasser opened the scoring for the Saints as she tipped a crossing pass from
Alex Johnson onto the net in the third minute to put Maryville on top 1-0.
Mariah Loya gave the Saints an insurance goal in the 34
thminute as she found the back of the net off a touch pass from
Kristen Sparks to stake Maryville to a 2-0 advantage.
Inside the Numbers – The Saints outshot the Miners 10-7 while each team had four shots on goal in the contest. Kaltwasser paced the Saints offense with four shots.
Alison Riddle earned her 11
thcareer clean sheet while claiming her first win of the year.
