In the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener, Maryville volleyball lost a three-set decision at Indianapolis Friday night. The set scores were 25-16, 25-15, 25-16 in the Circle City.

What Happened
The Saints grabbed an early lead by going on a 4-1 run in the opening set. UIndy went ahead but the Saints tied the score at 6-6. The hosts used a 7-2 run to surge ahead to go up 1-0. Elizabeth Eardly had a kill and a block during a 3-0 burst as Maryville again took the early advantage. A key 7-1 spurt pushed UIndy up by six. In the final set, the Greyhounds started by scoring the first four points. Cassidy Arndt had a two kills to get the Saints on the board and keep close. UIndy scored three straight points on three different occasions to pull away.
