On the final day of the CBU Invitational in Memphis, the Maryville volleyball team dropped two tightly contested matches. Despite hitting a season-high .260, the Saints lost to Kentucky Wesleyan 25-18, 25-22, 25-22. In the finale, Maryville battled undefeated Lynn University but the Knights edged past the Saints 25-22, 25-23, 25-21. The Saints again notched a sparkling hitting percentage with a .326 mark.

Cassidy Arndt paced the Saints attack with 12 kills.
Elizabeth Eardly added seven kills and hit .333, while
Rachel Hurt accounted for five kills and posted a .400 hitting percentage.
Ali Vaughn distributed 15 assists, while
A.J. Hallemann finished with six digs.

In the first set against Lynn, both teams hit more than .400 as Maryville posted a .414. mark but the Knights were even better at a sterling .581. The Saints closed to 22-21 but the Knights held on for the three-point win. Maryville trailed but used a 4-1 run to trim the gap to 24-23. The Saints had three swings to tie the set but Lynn converted on its final chance to hold on for the 25-23 win. The Saints again made a late push but narrowly fell short. Mikaela Kues handed out 16 assists in the contest.

The Saints now stand at 1-3 on the season. Maryville is back on the court for the Kentucky Wesleyan Tournament Sept. 13-14 in Owensboro, Ky.
